Your NEW Web Content Specialist opportunity is here! We are looking for an exceptional Web Content Specialist for a direct hire/full-time opportunity in Baltimore, MD.  For this position, the Web Content Specialist will create and manage content to support communication of research and educational priorities across our client's website. This highly collaborative position requires a content creator capable of synthesizing complex information into a compelling format for a variety of web channels and audiences including high-level storytelling components on the home and core pages, summaries of research or educational initiatives, social media messages as well as content for larger site builds. 
Web Content Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Experience writing and creating within corporate guidelines for branding and messaging, information architecture, editorial strategy, search engine optimization, metadata and taxonomy strategy, content management and channel distribution strategies
  • Gather information through interviews and outreach to faculty and staff, collaboration with editorial and other communications staff, and research of available existing materials 
Web Content Specialist  Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Journalism or related field, science or medical degree, or equivalent education and related training
  • 4 years of related experience. Self-motivated, detail oriented, results-driven personality
  • High science and medical web writing experience is preferred, especially with an academic science or medical research organization
  • Minimal information architecture experience is required
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge and experience using content management systems, social media tools and related web applications
  • Strong project management, self-management and collaborative communication skills are necessary
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to write clear, concise copy
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environment
  • Solid teamwork skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to operate independently
  • Ability to travel locally as needed
