Fantastic opportunity for a Web Content Editor! Our client is seeking a talented Web Content Editor for a full-time, direct hire opportunity, located in the Washington DC area. This Web Content Editor must possess advanced knowledge of web and mobile communication strategies who is able to contribute to large digital and editorial projects and help clients meet their strategic goals. This candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience. A strong candidate will have experience serving as the primary client liaison for web content-related tasks. 

Web Content Editor Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and manage project schedules using project management tools, keeping management apprised of progress, changes, and potential obstacles 
  • Serve as the primary client liaison for web content-related tasks and activities on a day-to-day basis 
  • Edit/proofread health and science content, including webpages as well as online products such as newsletter articles, fact sheets, press releases, leadership messages, and feature stories 
  • Contribute knowledge about content strategy to the team’s overall digital strategy, including identifying needs and proposing solutions 
  • Support special projects on an as-needed basis  

Web Content Editor Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, or related field, or other bachelor’s degree with equivalent relevant work experience 
  • Five to seven years of experience, at least three of which include managing editorial projects and websites 
  • Experience writing and editing health content for a variety of audiences 
  • Superb client management and customer service skills, including producing clear, error-free correspondence and the ability to articulate strategies and solutions in meetings 
  • Experience working with creative and technical staff members, communicating your vision, and understanding project limitations 
  • Ability to work comfortably under pressure and to organize, track, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines, including development of project schedules and timelines 
  • Understanding of content strategy and familiarity with web writing best practices 
  • Outstanding editing and proofreading skills, including familiarity with plain language and use of editorial style guides 
  • Experience with web metrics and SEO, with a clear understanding of how they factor into web content strategy
