Video Production Team Lead

A Fortune 10 client of ours, currently located in Houston, TX, is seeking a Video Production Team Lead for a full-time opportunity. Qualified candidates should have experience with managing the creative execution, production, and on-time delivery of the company's video and photography communications. In additional, the Video Team Lead will be responsible for brand quality control of the team's deliverables. The Lead is also responsible for managing the performance and development of his/her direct reports.

Term: Full-Time/Salaried
Location: Downtown Houston, TX

  • Direct the daily functions of Studio’s video department, ensuring high performance through the implementation of operational, staffing, organizational and professional development best practices
  • Create and promote a culture that values talent, collaboration, autonomy and accountability where every contributor strives to elevate these standards over time, driving the performance of the entire team
  • Develop, coach and mentor direct reports through formal and informal feedback, including annual performance reviews
  • Partner with the Studio Manager and the Director of Key Accounts to determine and implement team-building and inspirational programs
  • Conduct performance reviews and regular one-on-one touch points with direct reports
  • Provide strategic business advice and insights on best practices within area of responsibility to Studio Manager and client-side management as requested
  • Ensure team is compliant with all Client branding, operational, legal and regulatory mandates, policies and guidelines
  • Recognize team efforts
  • Proactively identify and act on opportunities for operational improvements
  • Continually assess, design and implement group processes, policies and procedures best suited to the needs of the department, the department’s internal clients, and the greater corporation as a whole
  • Analyze team metrics on a weekly and monthly basis, including timesheet reconciliation
  • Participate in monthly Studio Operations meetings
  • Maintain high utilization of the contracted resources by managing overtime and the use of flexible staff to cost effectively meet department needs
  • Ensure that all contract employees are on-boarded and receive the tools/training needed to begin their engagement
  • Identify and align key resources to execute on the business needs while adhering to clearly defined utilization metrics & expectations
  • Ensure team work product meets technical, brand and quality control standards
  • Maintain a utilization rate as set by Studio Manager and determined based on number of direct reports, team diversity and strategic initiatives responsibilities
  • Translate customer requirements into defined, user-centered deliverables on multiple platforms including web, social media, intranet, etc.
  • Responds to project requests within SLA timeline
  • Manage and track edit schedules, audio and studio schedules, remote location shoots, and photography projects 
  • Oversee project budget estimation and assign resources to remain on target for project timelines 
  • Realign at-risk projects
  • Participate in kick-off meetings and advise the best strategy for each project
  • Identifies scope change immediately and addresses next steps to ensure budget integrity 
  • Collaborate with peer leads on multifunctional projects
  • Ensure client expectations are well managed and project changes are addressed
  • BA in Marketing, Communications, Video Production, Business from an accredited school
  • Minimum of 8 years of video production experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in-house/corporate creative or communications department
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate requirements and capabilities within the development, user experience, information architecture and related digital functions required
