Traffic Manager

We are looking for a Traffic Manager for a long term, temporary hire opportunity in Toledo, OH. The Traffic Manager (TM) acts as a liaison between account/project managers and the creative services department. He/she supervises, coordinates and ensures the on-time and orderly flow of all creative/production from job initiation to its final delivery. The TM must exhibit outstanding project and process management and communication skills to achieve the highest possible standards in client service. He/she will also provide project management follow-through and accurate delivery.  

Traffic Manager Responsibilities:


  • Manage and track the design, approval, proofreading and production processes of assigned projects within the creative services department 
  • Ensure that project schedules are followed and budgets are adhered to
  • Modify project schedules and budgets as required by project changes and AM/PM direction
  • Report to manager on reasons for variances to project schedules and budgets before they occur and suggest solutions
  • Manage workflow systems and ensure compliance by all project team members
  • Set daily priorities and project planning with department team members 
  • Gather necessary information to manage project initiatives in a time efficient manner 
  • Ensure proper project closeout  
  • Determine project assignments and monitor workload of all creative services team members
  • Maintain and update production reports for assigned projects  
  • Keep all pipeline, estimates, due dates and billing information current 
  • Work closely and partner with manager on assigned projects in defining project plans, timelines and production needs
  • Ensure timeline milestones (e.g., creative kick-off meetings, design reviews) are executed  
  • Keep abreast of all regulatory, legal and compliance guidelines and ensure these directives are followed on assigned projects
  • Leverage knowledge and understanding of graphic design, electronic creative and production to facilitate effective communication between departmental teams
  • Work with manager and extended team to develop departmental standard operating procedures, workflows and enhanced infrastructure

Traffic Manager Requirements:

  • Experience in the coordination and traffic of print, direct marketing campaigns and digital projects
  • Superior project management and organizational skills  
  • Detail-oriented, persistent follow-up and the ability to juggle shifting priorities
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional team efforts  
  • Resourceful and solution oriented and able to anticipate needs
  • Team player  
  • Operates effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment  
  • Adept at crisis management
  • Strong written, verbal and communication skills a must
  • Adept at workload management
  • Ability to provide effective direction to account and creative groups in managing the flow of work.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, advertising or business
  • Minimum of two years of traffic experience within a high-volume internal or external agency, graphic design firm or pre-press department 
  • Strong working knowledge of the print, digital and production processes  
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud software 
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and project management/workflow system
