Check out this direct hire/full time opportunity in Piscataway Township, NJ! The overall purpose of this position is to manage the global digital presence of a global not for profit society. The incumbent in this position is primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of a global digital presence that supports the Society throughout its engagement with the Photonics Community. In addition, the incumbent in this position is also responsible for management, functionality and content distribution supporting the Society websites, digital and social media presence. The role reports to the Executive Director and manages zero (0) direct report. This position works under minimum supervision and will have direct influence over digital presence strategy.

Society Digital Community and Presence Manager Responsibilities:
  • Develop a robust Society web presence and platform of information, digital tools and interfaces for collaboration  
  • Perform day-to-day management and oversee maintenance of the company's websites, digital and social media presence, including design, functionality and navigation  
  • Work in close collaboration with the Executive Director, Community Outreach & Development Manager, and Volunteer Leadership to ensure social media campaigns align with Society objectives and strategic direction  
  • Design, create and manage promotions and social ad campaigns
  • Manage all internal and external updates and requests for the Society digital presence (including web, social media, blog, and online community etc.)  
  • Identify and implement process improvements to create efficiencies for digital presence production, governance and management    
  • Serve as a liaison and primary point of contact within the Photonics Society, acting as a project manager to evaluate, prioritize, develop, manage, implement and test Society promotions 
  • Develop digital marketing strategies/planning across digital channels, presenting creative ideas and solutions  
  • Manage a promotional calendar executing scheduled promotions, ensuring timely campaign launches and managing the web content life cycle Digital Community and Presence Strategy (20%)  
  • Assist with the creation, conception, and presentation of a digital and other marketing strategies  
  • Provide digital presence metrics and analytics that helps increase content and campaign performances  
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and developments in search and digital tools and technologies Listening and Reporting (10%)  
  • Provide engagement and consensus digital presence analytics  
  • Monitor effective benchmarks (best practices) for measuring the impact of social media campaigns. Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.  
  • Establish and coordinate comprehensive digital marketing reporting, including visual recaps of promotions and campaigns
Society Digital Community and Presence Manager Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree is required, preferably in marketing or communications.  
  • Ideal candidate will possess 7 years experience developing and managing high traffic digital/online communities and websites
