Social Media Strategist

Our client is seeking a part-time, digitally savvy, creative content producer interested in providing support to enhance their social media presence for a temporary hire (6-month contract) in Bethesda, MD. The Social Media Strategist will be responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring clinical content across various social media platforms. Candidates must be able to review and synthesize technical health content and think strategically about how to use social media to promote it. The Social Media Specialist will work directly with the Director of Information Resources, and Outreach and the Communication Division. 

Social Media Strategist Responsibilities:
  • Work in collaboration with the Communications Division to develop interactive digital media content 
  • Collaborate with Communications Division on editorial calendar 
  • Develop content across the organizations social media platforms based on existing materials including Action Guides, Change Packages and Clinical Guidelines
  • Create audio and video content for social media using applications such as Dreamweaver and Flash
  •  Create podcasts 
  • Monitor and report on social media metrics in order to better execute communication strategies
  • Research emerging social media platforms, trends and opportunities
  • Implement social media optimization strategies and best practices to increase traffic and engagement for all platforms
  • Promote brand standards and adhere to editorial style across all social media channels
  • Ensure products are delivered on time and of high quality
  • Other duties as assigned
Social Media Strategist Requirements / Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of experience creating content for social media platforms (including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube
  • Proficiency with social media management platforms including Sprout Social, Hootsuite and Tweetdeck 
  • Knowledge of current social media best practices
  • Excellent written and editorial skills
  • Experience identifying and creating social media campaigns for health care providers and/or health organizations
  • Accuracy with work, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • TIME REQUIREMENT: Part-time (15 hours/week) from January-July 2020 at office in Bethesda, MD. Days and times can be flexible.
