Awesome opportunity for a Segment Account Manager! Our client is seeking a talented Account Manager for a direct hire, permanent position currently located in Gaithersburg, MD. The Segment Account Manager manages internal client relationships and provides strategic segment expertise. The Segment Account Manager exhibits ability to gain deep knowledge in specific channels or vertical markets as required by specific client’s business unit and segment’s industry of Healthcare. For select Tier 1 assignments, the Segment Account Manager will participate in brainstorming sessions. In addition, the Segment Account Manager will collect competitive insights, offer thought leadership on how best to market company services and ensure accurate delivery. The Segment Account Manager maintains high quality standards despite pressing deadlines; always striving to do work right the first time.  

Segment Account Manager Responsibilities:
  • Acts as primary liaison between assigned segment leaders and the creative team
  • Serves as initial point of contact for all aligned segment projects and recommends and advises clients on options and capabilities utilizing best practices and Healthcare knowledge
  • Maintains the “big picture” for projects and client requirements ensuring that related deliverables are treated appropriately
  • Counsels project managers on identifying Tier 1 projects and goals, as well as expected Tier 2 and 3 needs, across a calendar year that enables creative services to staff, prioritize and plan to meet those needs; reviews and updates account plan at set intervals across the year
  • Ensures that the creative team understands client perspective and requirements and that the final output aligns as appropriate
  • Understands clients’ products, audiences and business objectives and ensures they are applied to client deliverables; collaborates with designers and writers to produce on target collateral
  • Reviews products for quality, consistency, accuracy, and advancement of the visual and verbal messaging in design reviews, and ensures that consistent image/message is conveyed 
  • Contributes conceptual ideas in brainstorming client’s Tier 1 projects
  • Works with segment leaders to prioritize projects with conflicting deadlines
  • Analyzes and forecasts demand and capacity to support staffing needs such as temp hiring, temp layoffs, and attrition, hiring plans and general workload planning
  • Reviews reporting and metrics dashboards related to time-tracking, quantity and status of projects, team capacity and effectiveness, tiering, cycle times, expense budgets and other relevant data
  • Serves as an analytic generalist to support data queries from segment leaders
  • Maps out a strategy that supports and enhances sales initiatives, both short- and long-term
  • Serves as the voice within the creative team for the client and facilitates client interaction with the designers and writers as appropriate
  • Reviews full breadth of aligned-clients’ projects in order to recommend opportunities for effective streamlining of messages and/or projects
  • Supports peers by reviewing work to ensure zero errors in work
  • Partners with sales to create and enhance the quality of creative and project briefs. Facilitates the identification of key messages and reviews for overall accuracy. Interprets project requirements for creative team
  • Represents the interests of the client in interactions with project teams, and represents creative services in interactions with the client
  • Serves as department's expert on their assigned segment. Understands all segment brands, objectives and initiatives
  • Understands and conveys competitive and strategic data
  • Collaborates with the project managers to assign projects 
Segment Account Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, communications, marketing or related field
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience, at least two of which are in marketing or account management role either in an external or internal agency
  • Experience in managing a brand’s portfolios and pitching for new business
  • Strong communication and organization skills required
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project)
  • Demonstrates expertise in applicable applications and tools such as Microsoft Office and project management software
  • Demonstrates knowledge of industry best practices in the B2C and B2B fields
  • Writes and speaks effectively and is able to clearly articulate the team’s solutions in terms of the client’s business goals
  • Reviews all project and creative briefs ensuring all team members fully understand the objectives 
  • Leverages research and data to support client business solution strategies
  • Is pragmatic with creative business strategies always keeping eye on the objectives of the project
  • Adept at crisis management, resourceful and solution-oriented
  • Understands that all projects require attention to detail so that work is on-time, on-budget and on-strategy
  • Exhibits broad understanding of traditional and emerging channels
