Ready for a new job? We are looking for a talented Project Manager for a temp-to-hire  position currently located in Washington, DC. The Project Manager is responsible for management and oversight of 20 divisions. For this Project Manager position the candidate will be responsible for serving the primary point of contact and staff liaison for all division activities-primarily budget preparation, approval, and management; governance - implementing elections and documenting outcomes, managing bylaws and process/procedure documents, planning and organizing business meetings; program development and implementation, including webinars and events at the Annual Scientific Meeting; and annual reports. 

Project Manager Responsibilities:
  • Maintains good relationships with the leadership of 20 scientific divisions, communicating regularly and providing expert staff support for the division leaders
  • Ensures division processes are implemented in a timely and effective manner; these include governance processes, budget development, annual report, business and scientific meetings, and educational programs
  • Coordinates division activities related to the Annual Scientific Meeting, including the planning and implementation of division programs at the ASM 
  • With the associate director, science & practice programs, ensures that division oversight is consistent and transparent, and maximizes integration of the divisions into scientific activities 
  • Coordinates with education staff for the implementation of division education programs 
  • Implements process improvements, such as standardization of processes across divisions
  • Travel to Annual Scientific Meeting required; additional travel might also be required 

Project Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred 
  • Three or more years’ experience working in an association environment Project Management experience or Education in Business/Management field preferred PMP Certification preferred 
  • Substantial experience working independently, managing programs and meeting goals and deadlines within budgetary constraints 
  • Experience managing volunteer member groups required 
  • Experience managing multiple projects/groups concurrently, and the ability to continually reprioritize work as needed
