Project Management Team Lead Responsibilities: 
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to ensure the services offered by the creative group are understood, documented, conveyed and reflected in the scope and approach of each project
  • Drive development, coordination, communication and adoption of processes and procedures related to the approach and management of the service offerings of creative group
  • Provide guidance and oversight for the portfolio of projects managed by the Project Managers to ensure these projects are being executed effectively according to approved strategies and in accordance with best practices particularly related to the management of project scope, risk, change, communications, resources, status, etc.
  • Consolidate and communicate regularly to the Studio Manager the overall status of projects in progress and in the pipeline (including timelines, estimated efforts, resource needs, risks, issues, budgets, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively with the creative team in development of proposals, presentations, statements of work, contracts, etc., to ensure projects are accurately scoped, estimated, priced, resourced, communicated and aligned with services offered by the creative group
  • Develop, implement, and update a work plan for the project management unit, including assignment of projects, establishment of and monitoring of schedules
  • Supervise project managers and project management staff by assigning tasks and supporting/monitoring compliance with project parameters by developing, maintaining, and strictly adhering to project budget, schedules, identifying deadlines, goals, risks, and contingency plans
  • Manage schedules, budgets, assets and overall project organization to ensure the team meets project requirements and client expectations
  • Serve as the point person for clients and creative team members on project management issues
  • Step in and be as hands-on as necessary to help rescue at-risk projects
  • Works directly with internal clients to determine supplier solicitation strategies and overall publishing schedule and content inclusion
  • Liaise with internal design team to finalize publication layout and coordinate printing & distribution

Project Management Team Lead Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferably in marketing, communications, advertising or business
  • Minimum of five years of professional level experience in the print/publishing/marketing fields managing multiple project managers either in an external or internal agency
  • Knowledge of and experience with the following software programs: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.). Experience working in a database is recommended 
  • Knowledge of the following programs is helpful, but not required: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) 
  • Ability to create and execute successful marketing tasks within an overall framework 
  • Ability to be flexible in fast-changing environment and to work well under pressure; must be a self-starter 
  • Experience managing a project management team
  • Knowledge of project management tools and their applications
  • Ability to identify and implement effective and efficient creative project workflows in print design, digital, and video
  • Strong understanding of the creative process as well as design and print/web production
  • Proven leadership skills managing cross-functional teams, influencing outcomes and key project decisions, and strategic problem-solving ability
