We have an immediate need for a Junior Medical Editor to join our South Jersey client's team. This is an excellent position for someone with 1-3 years of medical editing experience who is looking to find their next position, or start their career! Apply today for immediate consideration. 

Medical Editor Responsibilities: 
  • Serve as editorial lead for live symposia, including: 
    • Attendance at all program planning meetings 
    • Understand educational goals and strategy for each symposium and ensure goals and strategy are met through symposia execution 
    • Communicate with faculty to discuss and procure content for overall program and individual lectures 
    • Review program marketing brochures, audience generation mailings, and program books for accuracy 
    • Review slide presentations for accuracy, appearance, quality and accuracy of references, internal consistency, basic copyediting and suitability for intended topics and making revisions or working with faculty to make revisions 
    • Research, purchase and expense copyright permissions where necessary 
    • Coordinate appropriate pre/posttest, including writing or reviewing content-based and confidence questions at the direction of the Medical Director 
    • Final review of individual and complete slide decks for live symposia 
    • Copy editing of enduring materials for AMA and house style 
    • Coordinate internal medical and editorial reviews, external bias/balance review and faculty reviews to ensure that all comments and revisions are reflected in the final print product 
    • Review final slides for late changes, copyright issues 
    • Review audio for inappropriate or inaccurate comments to be removed from final slide synchronization 
    • Coordinate editorial changes with internal and external web development teams 

Medical Editor Requirements: 
  • BA/BS and above level of education 
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, InDesign, AMA and AP style 
  • Experience with medical publishing 
  • Knowledge of ACCME guidelines a plus
