Fantastic opportunity for an Instructional Designer! Our client is seeking a talented Jr. Instructional Designer for a direct hire/full-time position in Schaumburg, IL. The Instructional Designer will take content created by subject matter experts (SMEs) and translate it into instructionally sound education and performance support deliverables. The Jr. Instructional Designer will design and implement e-Learning interactions such as simulations, decision trees, and audio/visual for existing and new online courses. Major responsibilities include assisting in identifying delivery methods best matched to instructional goals. 

Instructional Designer Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement e-Learning offerings in accordance with analysis and design requirements
  • Coordinate and contribute to instructional analysis, design and evaluation activities
  • Effectively work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and develop eLearning Develop and implement simple and complex e-Learning interactions and assessments (e.g., case studies, decision trees, simulations and video where appropriate)
  • Recommend delivery methods consistent with instructional goals
  • Produce e-Learning content using rapid-development tools (such as Captivate, Lectora, Claro, Articulate etc.)
  • Evaluate and incorporate learner feedback for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with Education and PD staff on special projects
  • Stay current with new techniques that may enhance the learning experience
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
Instructional Designer Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology/Design, Adult Learning or a related field
  • Coursework or prior work experience in course design, development and online authoring
  • Two to five years of experience working with technical content and technical subject matter experts preferred
  • Two to five years of experience in an association or similar environment (e.g. volunteer-dependent) preferred
  • Demonstrated application of instructional design theory and best practice methods including adult learning theory and e-Learning theory to deliverables
  • Technical problem identification, analysis and resolution skills
  • Ability to develop engaging eLearning courses that integrate multimedia, including, simulations, audio and video
  • Current experience with one or more of the following rapid development tools:
    • Articulate Storyline
    • Lectora
    • Captivate
    • Claro
  • Working knowledge of video editing a plus but not required
  • Ability to test e-Learning deliverables and functionality
  • Ability to set priorities and make recommendations about system improvements
  • Project management skills including ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective listening, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with others to achieve shared goals
  • Ability to work independently when required
  • Adapt quickly to a constantly changing environment
