For this temporary hire role, the Instructional Designer will help a growing non profit develop digital and multimedia products, including on-line courses, video and text-based content.  The material will be used as curriculum support for their members through e-learning and continuing education.  As Instructional Designer, you will help educators enhance their crafts and enhance their roles by providing high-quality, research-based resources and be the support they can trust.

Instructional Designer Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain digital and multimedia products, including video and text-based content for on-demand platforms 
  • Collaborate with teams composed of internal and external members, such as subject matter experts, video producers/editors, graphic designers, programmers, and copy editors, to ensure timely project completion
  • Develops and maintains digital and multimedia products, including on-line courses and video and text-based content for on-demand platforms
  • Collaborates with teams composed of internal and external members (e.g, subject matter experts, video producers/editors, graphic designers and copy editors) to complete projects
  • Writes, edits, reviews and, where applicable, updates product content
  • Ensures that every product is of the highest standards through peer review and quality assurance checks
  • Conducts primary and secondary research and makes editorial decisions related to content.   Capable of writing and creating an on-line course, from writing to publication.  
  • Works with Supervising Production staff to meet timelines and adhere to workflow, ensuring all work submitted meets established criteria; helps to manage stakeholder expectations.   
  • Works closely with Supervising Production Manager to drive the day to day progress of development and production of online courses and digital products.
  • Recruits and vets suitable subject matter experts for online products, and guides them to create content for online products.
  • Serves as a knowledge base resource for digital and multimedia products and process standpoint, and assists with product develop decisions and internal and external customers, as necessary

Instructional Designer Requirements:

  • 5  years of experience in education or training field (k-12 education).  
  • 2  years of instructional design experience
  • Nice to Have: 
    • Experience with educational technology
    • Masters degree
    • Experience with Articulate 360
