Job Title: Freelance Medical Editor
Location: North Wales, PA
Term: Long-Term, On-going Contract - up to 20 hours per week

Medical Editor Responsibilities:
  • Determine work assignments and prioritization
  • Correctly interpret and implement client revisions to editorial deliverables
  • Provide Associate Studio Manager with appropriate feedback on team performance and needs
  • Proactively look for operational opportunities for improvement
  • Responsible for overall editorial style consistency
  • Review client feedback and mark up documents in PDF format as needed
  • Fact-check pieces with references (eg, monographs) as directed
  • Provide proofreading support
  • Serve as Editorial liaison to other departments for special initiatives/projects
  • Maintain knowledge of brands and corporate/regulatory guidelines. Keep abreast of trends/developments in editorial style, usage, medical writing, and publishing
Medical Editor Requirements:
  • Self-starter with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong editorial/proofreading skills (test required) and effective writing skills
  • Proficient in AMA style
  • Proficient with Adobe Acrobat
  • Skilled at managing multiple concurrent projects. Ability to manage fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Command of medical/legal system and regulatory guidelines
  • Minimum 5 years general editorial experience, with at least 2 years in medical, pharmaceutical, or advertising industry preferred
