Our client, a mission driven energy association is in search of an Executive Editor and Senior Content Strategist for a full time/direct hire position located in Washington, DC. The editor will help to manage the day to day and long term development of the organizations magazine which is produced in digital and print formats. Our ideal candidate will have experience developing and managing production schedules, meeting deadlines, conceptualizing, writing and editing content, while working with authors, company stakeholders and designers. Executive Editor & Senior Content Strategist Responsibilities:

  • Management of the bi-monthly magazine and ensuring it is published perfectly in both print and digital form
  • Develop content for a variety of communications materials including: talking points, presentations, speeches, newsletters, infographics
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of emerging trends and opportunities in multimedia publishing, while tracking and improving engagement metrics
  • Cultivate subscription and distribution lists
  • Provide communications support during emergency events. 
  • Manage external ad sales and oversee vendor relationships

Executive Editor & Senior Content Strategist Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years experience in magazine production, editing, and writing at a trade association, PR firm or publisher
  • Degree in communications, journalism, or PR preferred
  • Expertise in project management, publication workflow, online publishing, and design
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a knack for synthesizing complex content for a diverse audience
  • Proven experience writing persuasively, quickly, and accurately in a fast paced work environment 
  • Must be team oriented, collaborative, and work well with internal and external teams
