Fantastic opportunity for an Editorial Manager for a temporary hire (indefinite contract) in San Bruno, CA. You’re a tech and pop culture savvy project manager with the perfect mix of leadership skills and editorial prowess––and we’re looking for Editorial Manager just like you to help guide the sourcing and development of content to enhance the online experience for hundreds of millions of shoppers every day, while improving customer perception and building loyalty for our client.

Editoral Manager Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development (creation/curation/repurposing) and execution of branded online content in a variety of media formats: recipes, articles, videos, blogs, photography, UGC; seek to experiment with new formats
  • Partner with Sr. Managers, Editorial to develop and deploy content strategy and creative guidelines for ongoing Category/Seasonal (guided selling or product-rich content), Social (brand) and SEO campaigns
  • Make creative and strategic recommendations to support program goals and KPIs
  • Manage and leverage relationships with cross-functional partners (Site, Marketing, Merchandising) to ensure initiatives are aligned with merchandising, marketing and overall company strategies
  • Translate creative briefs and marketing strategies into relevant, useful, high-quality content and content-rich experiences; partner with senior management to continually manage and refine editorial point of view
  • Receive content/channel performance and best practices guidelines from key stakeholder partners; use learnings to optimize content (creative and placement) and improve performance
  • Achieve operational objectives by contributing creative direction and recommendations for content and experience/tools development, resolving problems, reviewing and reconciling business needs with customer needs, identifying trends, and determining system/process improvements
  • Ensure consistency and continuous improvement of content creative, as well as placements/integrations and performance; recommend support plans according to calendar objectives
  • Update, edit and manage content and content modules using Wordpress and proprietary content management system (CMS) tools
  • Advocate and create use cases for the development of new interactive content tools and other integrated content/commerce experiences; partner with Sr. Managers, Editorial and Creative Director to define creative direction and business case
  • Collaborate with Partnership Marketing to monetize content
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for fellow Editorial associates, often without formal authority

Editoral Manager Requirements:
  • BA in English, Journalism, Marketing or related field
  • 2 to 5 years experience in editorial content management or related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of supervisory experience
  • 2 years experience managing large editorial content campaigns in an online creative or related digital field
  • 2 years experience working for or with creative agencies
  • 1 year experience managing vendor contracts and relationships
  • 1 year experience managing editorial content teams in a retail creative environment
  • 2 years experience working with content management systems
  • 1 year experience managing website or online tool development
