We are actively seeking an experienced Category Manager for a direct hire/ full time opportunity currently located in Saddle River, NJ. The ideal candidate with serve as the leader between product categories and distribution channels worldwide. This role will involve the candidate in defining local sales and divisional product marketing initiatives while deploying a consumer driven strategy founded on innovation and best in class service.

Category Manager Responsibilities:
  • Serve as team leader for all assigned product lines related activities for the United States marketplace
  • Work closely with divisional product marketing teams to coordinate launch schedules and delivery dates of new products 
  • Plan the roll out and introduction of new products and coordinate with the Sales team
  • Coordinate presentation materials for key product meetings and line reviews
  • Serve as brand ambassador and technical expert providing support to our customers, customer service, sales team and end users
  • Develop pricing programs. Manage and update price database for all products and be responsible for margin return
  • Work with Supply Chain team to forecast demand by SKU; interact with Supply Chain team to manage product forecasting and inventory
  • Execute all marketing activities including short and long range strategies
  • Develop and implement product training programs for dealers and sales reps, if needed
  • Develop promotional sales/collateral material including product brochures, price sheets, sell sheets and spec sheets
  • Evaluating, suggesting and managing SKU assortment, in conjunction with sales, by account.
  • Monitor, analyze and report competitive activities, products and market trends.
  • Attend industry trade shows and other consumer events and assist in planning and execution

Category Manager Requirements:
  • 4 year undergraduate degree required
  • 5  years of field experience within category management
  • Strong analytical skills with forecasting and inventory control
  • Strong computing skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be a competent trainer and presenter
  • Strong team player, as well as ability to work independently 
  • Easily adaptable to change and flexible working attitude
  • Experience analyzing/utilizing NPD data
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising
