The BOSS Group is excited to be supporting a fantastic association in Washington, DC in their search for an Assistant Vice President of Public Relations. This is a full time / direct hire position that allows you to develop and execute integrated PR and media relations campaigns, while further elevating the organizations presence, brand and thought leadership. Our ideal candidate for the role will be deeply rooted in the PR world and have exceptional communications and marketing experience. You will help to create innovative PR strategies, develop strong working relationships with media outlets, while providing media training and council to others. Assistant Vice President of Public Relations Responsibilities:
  • Plan and manage the organizations PR efforts while fostering strong relationships with reporters, editors, and press contacts
  • Showcase strategic and innovative thinking, along with exceptional leadership and people skills
  • Develop and maintain an comprehensive PR and media relations program that enhances the associations brand recognition, online presence and thought leadership
  • Develop and promote press releases, media alerts and op-eds
  • Drive others to develop and reach personal goals
  • Collaborate closely with marketing and communications teams to create and maintain an effective editorial strategy 
  • Manage all contracts and relationships with external vendors 
  • Coordinate all marketing, communications and PR efforts across various departments 
Assistant Vice President of Public Relations Requirements:
  • 15+ years of professional experience in public relations and communications
  • A minimum of five years of supervisory experience 
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills 
  • Bachelors degree in PR, Marketing, Communications or related field 
  • Proven experience driving brand awareness via PR efforts and enhancing company image
