Washington D.C. - Stephen Egts of The BOSS Group was honored as 2007 Staffing Employee of the Year by the Capital Area chapter of the American Staffing Association (CASA) during its recent annual banquet in the St. Gregory Luxury Hotel.

Association Chairman and featured speaker Pat Rohe presented the award designed to honor a professional who exemplifies the benefits of temporary employment. The selection criteria looked for exemplifications of the ASA's "five key messages" about staffing: training, flexibility, bridge to permanent employment, jobs and choice.

The BOSS Group, headquartered in Bethesda, MD, recruits and places temporary workers in the creative and communications industries in six primary markets: D.C., Richmond, Metropolitan New Jersey, Philadelphia, Dallas and Baltimore.

Egts was nominated by Jodi Beesecker, D.C. creative talent recruiter for the BOSS Group, Washington D.C., for work in graphic design, production and art direction for a variety of agencies, non-profits, association and government clients. Beesecker said, "Stephen has served our clients loyally for almost 3,000 hours over the past three years. He embodies what we look for in freelance talent and has clearly made a positive impact on business outcomes for our clients."

Egts said, "I am doing things not possible in a full-time job, like taping open-heart surgery in Ethiopia, animating treatment of a children's show for Encyclopedia Britannica and an introduction for a GE convention, writing a feature article in PC Plus magazine, and art direction of a CD cover and video for an emerging record label. ...The BOSS Group has exposed me to numerous working environments that have immeasurably increased my knowledge of my field.
