Technology set to revive economy

2012-02-14

For many business owners, the recent economic slowdown is still in the forefront of their minds. The dips and dives in financial stability showed that no corporation, big or small, is safe when money gets tight. Like in most times of economic hardship, technology has played an important role in revitalizing the nation. It seems that moving forward, the trend will continue.

A recently survey from Jobvite reveals that in 2011 more than 22 million Americans used social networks to find their most recent job opportunity - a figure that is up 7.7 million from last year. While this is just a small indication of technology playing an increasingly important part in bringing the job market back to a normal state, it is nonetheless a hopeful sign for things to come.

In 2012, creative staffing services may have their hands full, as improved technology will further revolutionize industries. As of late, corporations have already begun to initiate innovative methods for conducting and conceiving new projects.

Previously, innovation was somewhat limited to the ideas of staff members within corporations. Today, more businesses are using crowdsourcing as a way to garner new ideas from those with an objective viewpoint. Crowdsourcing is a technique companies use that asks consumers to participate in the creation of new ideas - in some cases, the chosen idea could result in a job for the creator.

As the new year develops, ideas generated from such group brainstorm sessions may take on lives of their own. Technology has also helped new projects find funding as cloud computing, social networking and the simplicity of online marketing allow corporations the chance to launch products for pennies compared to prices in past years. Innovative designs can help businesses take more chances in 2012, which will allow them to figure out what consumers want and what they have seen enough of.

There are already signs of a rebound in the market. The unemployment rate dipped below 9 percent for the first time since early 2011, and the housing market has even seem to stabilized. Consumers are growing more comfortable with their financial standing, and this past Holiday season showed an increased willingness for people to reach a little deeper into savings accounts and spend money on gifts for loved ones. There is no doubt that 2012 is looking bright for the United States, and with the help of technology and innovative ideas from anyone and everyone, businesses may just find themselves in a better state of mind come this time next year.
