Businesses want to gain an edge against the competition and instead of oversaturating the marketplace with constant promotional content, more organizations want to elicit emotions through creativity. However, getting workers to think differently can be tough. Typical motivational tactics may not work. In fact, a lot of the same techniques managers use to improve productivity would be ineffective when attempting to pique employee interest in products and inspire them to be innovative in their work.

In fact, putting any amount of pressure could be detrimental to the entire creative process. The first step in becoming more creative is to stop trying to be more creative.
Character traits, such as productive, efficient and motivated often are not constant in everyone - it tends to be quite the opposite. The third step in becoming more creative in the workplace is to never use creativity as a substitute. If a project is in peril and a quick solution is needed, employers should not directly throw the concern onto creatives. The creative juices are stunted when faced with insurmountable odds. If a client relationship or project is in peril, it may make more sense to take a safer, more thorough approach, rather than attempt to create a solution out of thin air.
Overall, it is impossible to force employees into being more creative. It is a talent that comes naturally. In fact, if workers are not performing optimally in their current position, it may make sense to reevaluate their placement within the organization and seek to understand if their skills would be more valuable elsewhere.
